Mr. Bradley James Weaver, 14, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Sunday, July 2, 2017, following a year-long courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Dec. 5, 2002, in Elkhart to Jennie Ann E. Farrough and Eric J. Weaver, both of Elkhart.

Also surviving are his sisters Rachel E., Keturah J. “Katie” and Carolyn J. “Carrie” Weaver, all of Elkhart; grandparents James L. (Sandra) Weaver of Port Richey, Florida, Marty (Roger) Troyer of Elkhart and James W. (Florence) Farrough of Eufaula, Alabama; great-grandmother Florence Saurman, also of Eufaula, Alabama; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

The family wishes to acknowledge Osceola American Legion Post #308, radio station B100 and all the countless members and friends of “Bradley’s Brigade” who helped Bradley and his family keep up the good fight during his illness.

Bradley attended North Side Middle School and had a long history of personal and academic achievements, which included such accolades as honor student and student of the month, as well as participating in the school’s math and spelling bowls. He also played french horn.

While sweet, compassionate and loving, Bradley was also logical, pragmatic and scientific – always yearning for answers on how the world worked.

He was an avid Lego enthusiast and his ability to create complicated building projects led to his dream of becoming an inventor. He enjoyed his electronics and games, and when he wasn’t studying, he would relax to a game of Minecraft or catch “The Big Bang Theory” on television. His favorite celebrity, however, was ventriloquist Jeff Dunham.

Although he never got the chance to meet Jeff or his characters, a personal message from Jeff and “Peanut” was received by Bradley prior to his passing.

Compassionate, caring and resolved, Bradley’s greatest gift was his ability to make all who knew him feel valued and loved.
