Braden Matthew Hartman, 14, passed into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, June 28.
Braden was diagnosed with cancer in February 2015. His unwavering faith in God, strong will to live, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried him through 16 long months of grueling treatment … he truly was a BraveHart.
Braden was born Aug. 14, 2001, in Elkhart, to parents Matthew and Erin Hartman. He was a young man of many talents. Music was his passion. He was accomplished in many musical instruments including guitar, cello, and piano. He was a gifted artist and loved to draw in his spare time. He was a deep thinker and loved to read, discuss, and debate. But most of all, Braden loved Jesus and wanted to share the gospel with other people. He was active in Granger Student Ministries at Granger Community Church and also played guitar in the worship band.
Braden is survived by his parents, Matthew and Erin; his younger brother, Kellen; his grandparents, Ben and Laura Baier and Harold and Ali Hartman; paternal great-grandparents, John and Dorothy Hartman, all of Elkhart; many aunts, uncles and cousins and his beloved dogs, Bella and Winston.
