Brad Deckard, 55, of Bloomington went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ August 20, 2011. Born, November 5, 1955 in Bloomington, he was the son of Forrest W. and Alberta M. (Lindsey) Deckard. Brad was a 1972 graduate of Bloomington High School South and a Police Officer for the Bloomington Police Department from 1979-1999. He was a parts manager at Community Chryler,Dodge, Jeep in Martinsville and the owner/proprietor of Deckard and Son’s Lawn Service. Brad was a loving father who enjoyed playing softball, riding motorcycles, riding horses and boating. But mostly he enjoyed go cart racing with his sons.
Survivors include two sons, Ethan Deckard (fiancee’ Caitlyn), Cody Deckard and their mother, Susan Fletcher all of Bloomington, one brother, Thomas J. Deckard (Melinda), nephews, Joel and Adam Deckard all of Centerville, three cousins, Betty Allen (Lester) of Ellettsville, Dennis Lindsey (Liz) of Freetown and Brian Lindsey (Louanne) of Vincennes.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
