Boyd C Rich

Boyd C Rich passed away on January 31, 2016 due to complications of age. He was surrounded by his loving family who cherished him. He was born in Fairview, Wyoming on June 28, 1928 to Marvin Allred Rich and Leora Child.

He graduated from Star Valley High School with High Honors. He stopped his education at BYU to serve a mission in the Swiss Austrian Mission where he was Secretary to the Mission President. He returned to Austria for three years serving in the CIA Corps in the US Army.

Boyd married the love of his life, Carmen Ursenbach in 1955 in the Alberta Temple. Together they had 7 children, David C. (Judy), Mark E. (Gayle), Michael J. (Jane), Diane, Steven K. (Annette), James B. (Joanie) and Debra (Brandy); 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

He received his B.S. degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from BYU. He received his M.S. and M.A. Degree in Speech Pathology and Vocational Rehabilitation from Southern Illinois University. He served his communities well in both of these areas throughout his life.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His faith in the Savior sustained him throughout the struggles of his life. He served as a Seminary teacher and in many other leadership positions. Later in life, two missions with his wife, in East Germany, the North DC Visitors Center and in the Ogden temple as Ordinance workers.
