In September of 1945 the whole world was celebrating V-J Day, but in Newnan, Georgia, Doss and Catherine O’Dell Williams Howard were ecstatic over the birth of their new arrival, Bonnie Sue. Sue would become an enthusiastic student and was active in the programs of East Coweta High School and loved being a cheerleader.
She was a member of the class of 1964. It was while working in Atlanta that she was smitten by a young man from Ty Ty, Georgia. Having left the country to live in the big city, he was very impressed by a young lady named Sue. They became an item and later married. For the next fifty years she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Sue loved the simple things in life.
She relished the thirteen years she spent as a paraprofessional at Maggie Brown School; helping to mold young lives. She spent countless hours scouring shops for items to turn her home into a cozy, country abode. At one point she even worked for a while in a shop in Olde Town Sharpsburg. And then there is her affection with NASCAR and Jeff Gordon, especially, Jeff Gordon. He could do no wrong. Leisure days could find her on their boat gliding through the water on a favorite lake and soaking up the beauty of the nature she cherished. As always, the basics in life mattered the most.
She is survived by her husband Larry Sims and her son Larry Jason Sims and his wife Alisa. She was the benevolent grandmother to Pamela and Jason Sims. Her sister, Brenda Brown and her husband Milbur also survive her.
