Bonnie Lee Gilbert

Bonnie L. Gilbert was born May 12, 1926, to Lee and Bertie (Threlkel) Bethel; in Lebanon Nebraska. They lived in Kansas before moving to Salem, Oregon; where Bonnie attended high-school. She married Harold M. Gilbert, on January 17, 1947; and soon after moved to Atwood, Kansas. They had five children, lived in several states, but retired in Grand Junction Colorado; in 1986.
She is survived by: her children, Beverly (husband Henry) Madaris of Collbran, Colorado, Karleen (husband Monte) Cooper of Hamlet, Nebraska, Harold (wife Gwenda) Gilbert of Grand Junction, Colorado, Stanley E. (wile Carolyn) Gilbert of Clifton, Colorado, and Sonja (husband Gary) Kent of Clifton, Colorado; as well as 26 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren. Also, one sister, Betty Anderson (husband Ken) of Salem, Oregon, two brothers, Dwayne (wife Joan) Bethel of Turner, Oregon, and Darryl (wife Betty) Bethel of Antelope, Oregon.
Bonnie was preceded in death by: her husband of 51 years, Harold, her daughter in-law, Patricia Lynn (Susie) Greene Gilbert, two grandsons, James Broach and Lyne Madaris, one granddaughter, Petrina Mae (Rahmer) Gruhn, one great grandchild, Brandy Hindman, adopted son, John Lash, her parents, three brothers, one brother-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
Bonnie was involved the war effort in WWII, (our own little Rosie the Riveter), and she was a homemaker who enjoyed: family, animals, (especially horses), fishing, hunting, and of course, lots of chocolate-chip cookies.
