Bobby Ray Flynt

March 21, 1936 – October 5, 2014

Bobby Ray Flynt of the Ico Community in Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 21, 1936 in the Fairview Community in Lonoke County, the son of the late Louis Clayton Flynt, Sr., and Susie Lynn Holt Flynt. He was a member of Marlow Missionary Baptist Church and a 32nd Degree Mason with Scottish Rite and a member of the Gavel Lodge #532 F&AM as Past Master. He enjoyed spending time with his Mason brothers.

Mr. Flynt died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant at the age of 78.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Main Walker, brothers, Louis Clayton Flynt, Jr., William Lynn Flynt, Sr., and sisters, Essie Glover, Mildred Glover and Lucille Hetherwick.

Survivors: Wife, Kathryn Graves Flynt; Son, Dave and wife Ann Main; son-in-law, Frank Walker all of Sheridan; daughters, Linda Stapleton and husband Bobby of Calico Rock; Gloria King of Sheridan, Kathy and husband Wayne James of Benton; 8 grandchildren, Frankie Taylor, Sam Madsen, Chris Walker, Melissa McKinney (Alan), Zack Main, Stewart Main (Cymber), Mandy Schultz (Phillip), Travis Stapleton; and 3 great grandchildren, Dakota Madsen, Aspen Madsen, and John Mckinney and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bobby was a salesman all his life, opening a small store in North Little Rock selling ice, popcorn and worms. He opened this store up when he was a young boy with the help and encouragement of his father. Later on, he would build his own worm bed business in the Ico Community.

Bobby and Kathryn owned and operated Flynt’s Laundry in Sheridan in the 1970’s. He worked at many car dealerships in Central Arkansas and in Texas. He was an award winning salesman at Twin City Motors and Parker Cadillac, winning top salesman many times. His last job was a salesman for Hanke Brothers.

He also enjoyed feeding the birds, fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family. They are so thankful for the love, dedication and devotion that he has shown them. They will miss him dearly.
