Bobby Joe Yeates was born January 28th, 1935 in Starkville, Mississippi and passed away on October 31st, 2013 in Flagstaff, Arizona. He lived in Mississippi until he enlisted in the National Guard at 16, eventually ending up in the Air Force. While in the Air Force, he was in SAC (Strategic Air Command) serving at Davis-Monthan, Castle, and Warren Air Force bases and was on duty in a missile silo during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After leaving the Air Force, he went to work for Lockheed as a Jet Engine Technician. While there, he was hand-picked to work in the original Stealth Bomber program (which was later cancelled), and retired from Lockheed-Martin in 1984.
In 1999, Bobby and Nadiene moved to Winslow, Arizona where he made many new friends at the various coffee shops in town. He loved to tell stories about his time in the service, as well as bragging about all of his grandkids, always doodling while he talked.
He is survived by his wife Nadiene, his son Michael Yeates(Pammi) of Nampa, Idaho; two step-sons, Roy Crain (Karen) of Winslow, Arizona, and Tim Crain (Sheryl) of Conway, Missouri; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Bertie, father RB, brother Melvin, grandson Nate, and step-son Terry.
