Bobby Joe Beckham, 82 of Sharpsburg passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born at home August 13, 1937 in Spalding County, GA to the late Tommy Lee Beckom and Opal Cleon Helms Beckom. He served in the U.S. Army and he enjoyed cooking and making Brunswick stew, he loved to be outside, work his garden, care for his flowers and feed his birds. He also loved GA Lottery scratch-offs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary “Mickey” Brown who he married on July 1, 1960. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene Beckom, Larry Beckom, Tommy Beckom, Johnny Beckom and Lee Beckham; sisters, Margaret Baker, Shirley Bishop and Peggy Turner. Bobby is survived by his children, Sandra Brown of Luthersville, Barbara and husband Rodney Byrom of Moreland and Tim and wife Lisa Beckham of Sharpsburg; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
