Bobby “Bob” Currell, 59, of Sioux City, formerly of Spirit Lake passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at his home in Sioux City.
Bob was born on October 18, 1959, to Bob and Gloria (Scott) Currell in Spirit Lake. Bobby lived his life to the fullest spending 33 of his years living at Courage Homes in Sioux City. He loved going on outings to Windom and Estherville. Listening to music made him happy, especially when he heard the church bells, patriotic songs, and The Chipmunks. Donuts and pop were some of Bobby’s favorite foods. He loved eating at Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Hardees, KFC, and Pizza Ranch. Bobby also loved to visit Arnold’s, Park Amusement Park. In the summer of 2018, there was a handicapped seat named in his honor on the Carousel.
He is survived by his mother Gloria Currell of Spirit Lake; sisters Deb (Tom) Ditsworth of Spirit Lake; Julie (Scott) Hicks of Lake City, IA; brother Steve (Jo) Currell of Spirit Lake; and his nephews and nieces Courtney, Haley, Ryley and Jackson; step-niece Jess Hicks and step-nephew Corey Hicks.
He was preceded in death by his father.
