Bobby Lee Gilmore, 91, of Huntsville, AL, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 6, 2022. He was born in Vincennes, Indiana on March 21, 1931. Bobby served 32 years in the U.S. Army. He was stationed at Redstone Arsenal when he retired. He was a Master Sergeant and Army Special Forces “Green Beret”. He enjoyed being a Jump Master. Bobby was in the Korean War and spent many years in Korea. He turned down 2 promotions as Warrant Officer to be close to his family. He was a loving father with a good sense of humor.
He is survived by his 5 children, Marla Small from Evansville, IN, Natalie Hasting from Gurley, AL, Rodney Gilmore from Laceys Spring, AL, Valarie Lee from Laceys Spring, AL, and David Gilmore from Laceys Spring, AL. Bobby has 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
