Blanche M. (Wilkinson) Jessiman, 98, of 280 Providence New London Turnpike, North Stonington, CT, died peacefully on Tuesday evening December 19, 2006, at Mary Elizabeth Nursing Center in Mystic. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin M. Jessiman.
Born in North Stonington, CT, on September 13, 1908, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Morgan) Wilkinson.
Mrs. Jessiman had been employed in the candy department of Woolworth’s in Westerly for several years.
Blanche was a member of the Second Baptist Church in North Stonington and the Groton Bible Chapel. She was an avid quilter.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons; Edwin M. Jessiman and his wife Dorothy of Whiting, ME, and John W. Jessiman of Appomattox, VA. She also leaves her sisters and brother, Annie Platt of Farmington, ME, Gertrude Wells of Old Mystic, CT, Richard Wilkinson of Punta Gorda, FL., Irene Johnson of Noank, CT, and Mary Barber of Mystic, CT, and five grandchildren; John Jessiman and wife Mary Jessiman of , NY, Kevin Jessiman of , NY, Robert Jessiman of Baileyville, ME, Walter Jessiman of Culter, ME and Martin Jessiman of Atlanta, GA. She also leaves 3 great grandchildren Trevor Jessiman, Cierra Blanche Jessiman and Channing Jessiman and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by Carroll Wilkinson, Beryl Maine, Royden Wilkinson, Eleanor Wilkinson, Elizabeth Scott and Hilda Page.
