Birdia K. Erickson, 94, formerly of rural Ottawa, Illinois, died on Friday, December 22, 2006 at The Davenport Good Samaritan Center, Davenport, Iowa. Mrs. Erickson was born on February 15, 1912, in Dayton Township, Illinois, to Thory and Serena (Linga) Lysland. At age 16 she moved to Chicago, where she later married George Erickson on June 18, 1933.
She is survived by one daughter, Virginia (Dwain) Dial of Davenport, FL, and four sons, Richard (June), Lynnwood, WA; Keith (Gene) of Port Byron, IL; Joel (Marian) of Moline, IL; and Dean (Marcia) of Kirkland, WA.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 21, 1999, and two brothers, Selmar Lysland of Paw Paw, IL and Nelfred Lysland of Ottawa.
