     Mr. Billy Ray Parker, age 76, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, September 28th, 2022 at his residence.

     Billy was born on May 13th, 1946 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Thomas Jefferson Parker and Mary Eva Parker. He was a member of Roper Heights Church of Christ in West Point, Georgia. He was a graduate of Troup High School and a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army. After his service to our country, Billy began a career in the trucking industry. He started with Georgia Highway Express, working as a dispatcher and a terminal manager. He then went to work for McLendon Trucking, serving as their operations manager until his retirement. Billy enjoyed going fishing, horses, and being a judge for the Racking Horse Breeders Association. He was an avid University of Alabama football fan.

     Billy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Lowe Parker; brother, Richard Douglas Parker (Ann); sister, Linda Lee Parker Haynes; several nieces, one nephew, several cousins, and many friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter and an infant son; siblings, Thomas Jefferson Parker, Jr., William Edward Parker, Benny Stephen Parker, Mary Ann Parker Thompson, Peggy Joyce Parker Harris, Larry E. Parker, and Ronald Parker; his beloved pets, Dixie and Brodie.
