Billy Myron McLain, age 85, of Moreland, Georgia, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on April 13, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Billy was born on February 14, 1935 in Clay County, AL. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Nancy Patrick Wiles McLain. Surviving siblings are Brenda McLain Bou (Jorge) Tampa, Florida; Anthony McLain, Kennesaw, Georgia; and Wendy McLain Pike, LaGrange, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his father, George Washington McLain and mother, Myrica Durea Jones McLain, grandson David Langley, siblings Syrol and Robert McLain. He was a lifelong Timberman, and owned log yards in Newnan, Douglasville and Hogansville. He and his father started “McLain and Son Company” in 1969 in Newnan, Georgia. He served on the Moreland City Council for eighteen years. He was a member of Moreland United Methodist Church, where he loved working on many church projects. Marriage blended a family of six children, including Karen McLain, Birmingham, Alabama; Charles Wiles, Jr. (Kim), Grantville, Georgia; Patricia Wiles Moore (Doug) Newnan, Georgia; Elisa McLain Hanbury (Scott) Alexandria, Alabama; Paige Wiles McDonald Hales (Dale) Calhoun, Georgia; Lori McLain Pope Smith (Gary) Franklin, Georgia; grandchildren, Rachel Langley, Joseph Pope, Matthew Moore (fiancé Tiffany), Katie Moore Brooks (Trey), Izaak McDonald, Myra Beth McDonald Steely (Blain), Chaz Wiles, Dylan Wiles, Kalynn Wiles, Kayla Hales Clark (Taylor), Kortini Hales Cruce (Devin), Jamon Hales (Courtney), Jake Hanbury, Pete Hanbury; great-grandchildren, Rylan Dyer, Addyson Brooks, Mason Brooks, Colin Brooks, Hazel Steely, Millie Steely, Jaxon Clark, Hunter Clark, Kimber Clark, Kasen Cruce, Bentley Hayes.
