Billy had enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967 during the Vietnam War era and served faithfully as a Specialist 4th grade until his honorable discharge in 1969. He has worked in manufacturing for various companies in the Muncie and Bluffton areas. Most recently, he served the Littler Die Cast Company of Albany as a Machine Inspector for 5yrs retiring in 2008. Mr.
Surviving are his companion of 13yrs, Lou Dean Miller, Muncie; two sons, Kevin Shoopman, Marion and Rick Shoopman, Redkey; two grandsons, Casey Shoopman, Los Altos, California and Preston Shoopman, Portland; one granddaughter, Hannah Shoopman, Killeen, Texas; two step sons, Terry (wife-Terri) and Bill (wife-Deb), both of Muncie; one daughter, Nina Jones (husband-Gary), Dugger,; 10 step grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Shoopman; one son, Joseph Shoopman; one brother, Paul Shoopman and one sister, Maxine Botts.
