Billy D. Wernecke, the son of Minnie Louise (Wulf) and Clinton Sam Wernecke, was born November 19, 1930 at White City, Kansas. He departed this life on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 15 days.
He received his formal education attending Baxter rural school in Kansas through the eighth grade and in 1946, moved with his family to the Guide Rock community. It was here that Billy pursued his life’s work farming. He was happiest when he was working his livestock including his cows, horses and hogs.
Left to treasure his memory are his son, Randy Wulf and Valli of Guide Rock; daughter-in-law, Debra Wulf of Broken Bow, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; cousin, Debbie Winslow and husband Kary of Guide Rock; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and his many friends.
