Yorktown-Billie J. Mitchell, 70, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 18, 2011, at the Waters of Yorktown Health Care Center following an extended illness. She was born July 23, 1940 in Muncie, the daughter of Robert and Leona (Devers) Heaston.
Billie attended Muncie Central High School. In 1965 she married the love of her life Michael J. Mitchell who preceded her in death in 2007. Mrs. Mitchell had been a homemaker and a former member of the VFW Post #651 Auxiliary. Billie enjoyed collecting dolls, salt and pepper shakers and bowling.
Surviving are three sons, Rick Smith and Robert Mitchell both of Muncie and Dicky Smith (wife-Marie), Chapmansboro, Tennessee; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Randy Heaston (wife-Sherry), Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband of 42 years Michael, she is preceded in death by her parents; one brother; Jerry Wayne Heaston; one sister, Shirley J. Harrnish.
