Billie Eugene Binion, 93, of Morgans Point passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
Bill was born on July 18, 1924 in Bonham, Texas to Dellas H. and Berdie (Adcock) Binion. He grew up in Truscott, Texas and graduated from King High School. Mr. Binion enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1943 and served as a radio operator during WW II.
He received the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal with three Bronze Battle Stars, The Air Medal Distinguished Flying Cross, as well as other awards. After the military, Mr. Binion worked in the textile industry and owned a furniture store in Corpus Christi before moving to Morgans Point in 1983. He married Cherie Jones in 1978 and she preceded him in death in 2008. Bill was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Morgans Point for many years and later at First Christian Church in Temple.
He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Wayne Binion in 2006. Mr. Binion is survived by a son Bill Binion, Jr. of Seymour, Texas, daughter Pamela Penny and her husband C.W. of Mesquite, Texas, sister Margaret Harmon of Dallas, Texas, two step sons, Doug Miller of Fairview, Texas and Mike Miller of Des Moines, Iowa, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
