Billy Gene Anders, the son of Violet (Harlan) and Homer Anders, was born December 11, 1934 at Columbus City, Indiana. He departed this life on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud, Nebraska.
Bill was united in marriage with Barbara Joyce Coffin in 1956 at Elkhart, Indiana. This union was blessed with three children, Steven James, Jeffrey Gale and Kimberly Jo. Bill was career military and served his country by enlisting in the United States Army on October 29, 1953. He received numerous commendations and medals during his twenty-two years of service. He was discharged and retired from military duty on February 28, 1975.
Bill and Barb spent their retirement years living in Red Cloud, where they were both actively involved in the community. Barb preceded him in death on November 2, 2007. Their daughter, Kim, also preceded him in death on January 12, 2012.
Left to treasure his memory are his sons, Steve Anders and wife Trish, and Jeff Anders and wife Rebecca all of Des Moines, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
