Beverly Jean Clements (Smith), “Bev,” passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at The Springs in Kalamazoo, Michigan at the age of 72. She was born in Kalamazoo on May 31, 1947 to the late William Smith and Lois J. Smith (Houtman).

Beverly graduated from Parchment High School and attended Western Michigan University for one year to be a secretary. She worked at the Ann Arbor Federal Bank, the Gibson Guitar Company and was a sales associate for Gilmores in Maple Hill and downtown. Beverly married her beloved husband, Robert “Bill” W. Clements in August of 1966 and recently celebrated 53 years of marriage. Beverly was a devoted wife and mother, loving grandma, a special aunt who enjoyed babysitting and she was a dear friend to many. Among the many special things about Beverly, she was a homemaker, a hairdresser to her aunts, Sunday school teacher, youth group sponsor, note writer, and cake decorator. She was a scrabble champion, a christmas bow maker, and was known for her caramel corn and cream puffs.

Beverly is survived by her husband Robert W. Clements, daughter Deborah L. Giebel and son Jeffrey (Rachel) S. Clements. She has seven grandchildren: Jace Giebel, Brooklyn Giebel, McKenzie Clements, Elizabeth Clements, Emilee Clements, Gavin Hahn and Karleigh Hahn and three great grandchildren. Bev is also survived by her sister Janet Bentz, brother-in-law Stephen Bentz, nephew Nathan Bentz, nieces Katherine Eichinger and Angela Bentz, and a multitude of cousins.
