Major Beverly “B.C.†Carson Elliott, Jr., age 75, passed away suddenly on July 15, 2012 at Danville Regional Medical Center, Danville. A resident of 103 Poplar Falls Drive, Danville, he was born December 29, 1936 in Pittsylvania County to the parents of the late Virginia Harris and the late Beverly Carson Elliott. He is survived by this wife, Ann Jones Elliott of the residence. Major Elliott was retired from the Danville Police Department for 10 years and was a faithful and active member of North Main Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School, served on various committees within the church, and was a former member of the choir. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Roman Eagle Lodge #122 of Masons. In addition to his wife, Major Elliott is survived by one son, Michael B. Elliott and wife, Rebecca of Fairfax, VA; one step-son, J.Thornton Jones, III of Blairs; seven step-daughters: Kimberly Ritenour of White Stone, VA; Christy Cain of Chilhowie, VA; Kelly Peterson of Keeling, VA; Carter Rae Tarwater of Houston, TX; Carla Perkins or Raleigh, NC; Cathy Cieslak of Louisville, KY; and Cindy Melton of Hurdle Mills, NC. He is also survived by 15 step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Major Elliott is predeceased by one son, Dennis C. Elliott.
