Beverly Ann Mullen, 81, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing & Rehab.

She was born Aug. 5, 1936, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Glenn Thomas and Maxine U. Moss Strickler. She married Robert “Bob” Mullen on Feb. 16, 1957, in Jacksonville and he survives.

She is also survived by four sons, Michael (Sue Ann) Mullen of Jacksonville, Tom (Pat) Mullen of Peoria, AZ, Jerry (Ann) Mullen of St. Louis, MO, and Tim Mullen of Tucson, AZ; ten grandchildren, Alicia (Damian) Gatti, Kyle Mullen, Dale Taylor, Tasha Mullen (fiancé Anthony Villa), Ashleigh Mullen, Brandon Mullen, Tara (Tom) Franz, Jacob Mullen, Brenna Mullen and Tyler Mullen; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Janet (Ralph) Hisle of Temple, TX and Judith (the Rev. Ronald) Fearneyhough. She was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Aiden Thomas Mullen; and one brother, Wayne Edward Strickler.

Mrs. Mullen was a 1954 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She worked for over 25 years at Four Rivers Special Education in Jacksonville. She had previously worked at the Jacksonville State Hospital. She was a member of the Church of Our Saviour. Beverly enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, ceramics, grooming dogs, bowling, and shopping. She had a special love for children and for dogs. Her love for her family was very special, and she always put others first.
