Dr. Beverly A. Ball, 87, of South Jacksonville, IL died Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville, IL.
She was born February 25, 1928 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Hazel Sleight Ball.
She is survived by a sister, Patricia Ball of Castro Valley, CA and several cousins including Thomas Moore of Griggsville. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Martha June Ball Carter.
Beverly dedicated her life to education continuing the academic tradition established by her parents and grandparents. She received her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Western Illinois University, her master’s degree in physical education from MacMurray College, and her doctoral degree from Ohio State University in child growth and development. She was a teacher for over 30 years at Jacksonville School District #117, MacMurray College, Illinois State University, and Western Illinois University.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, the Nancy Ross Chapter of DAR in Pike County, and several professional organizations.
