Betty Louise Summerville Alsberg, born November 4, 1954 in Breckenridge, Minnesota, passed away of cancer on May 21, 2018 in her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  She is survived by her son, Mark Alsberg; her siblings, Jim Summerville, Barbara Summerville, and Alan Summerville; and her mother, Louise Wieser.

Betty graduated from University of Wisconsin at Madison with her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and met the love of her life, David Alsberg, in Madison.  They fell in love quickly and moved to New York City where they married and had their son, Mark.  Shortly after Mark was born in 1991, David was killed tragically in 1993.  While others may crumble in these circumstances, Betty grew strong and moved to Colorado Springs to raise her son near family.

She found joy and prosperity in living a healthy lifestyle, where she walked for miles daily in the Garden of the Gods, traveled often, and invested time in her relationships with friends and loved ones.  Anyone close to Betty, and even those who knew her briefly, had great admiration for her optimism in life in even the darkest of times and her responsible nature coupled with her sharp wit.
