Betty Ruth Stephens Snead, 79, died Sunday, June 3, 2012 while a patient at Roman Eagle Memorial Home. She formerly lived at 13952 Franklin Tpke, Dry Fork, VA. Born June 13, 1932 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late William Washington Stephens and the late Anna Edwards Stephens. She was a member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene and worked as a CNA at Roman Eagle Memorial Home for twenty years and was also a homemaker. Betty is survived by her daughters, Sandra Pierce and husband, Max, of Danville, Karen Arnn and husband, Bob, of Keeling and Janet Poole and boyfriend, Shane Brizendine also of Danville; and her son, William “Billy†Snead. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robbie Moss, Dana and Scott Harville, Robert and Jenny Arnn, Benjamin and Xiomy Arnn, Matthew Kendrick and Anna Poole; her step-grandchild, Andrew Poole, her great-grandchildren, Jakob and Kayla Harville and her step-great-grandchildren, Stormie Pierce, Cortney Pierce and Landon Pierce and a sister, Pearl McGuire of Alexandria. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by seven brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church, Dry Fork, VA with Rev. Mike Hearp, Rev. Benjamin Arnn and Rev. Myron Bruce officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Norris Funeral Services, Mt. Hermon Chapel on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and at other times will be at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bob Arnn, 453 Adams Trail, Keeling, VA. The family suggest memorial donations be made to the Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 16300 Mount Cross Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549.
