Betty R. Riley, 74 of Moberly, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017, at her home. She was born November 20, 1942 in Higbee to Jesse L. and Temperance L. (Rucker) Hendren. She lived in Moberly all of her life.

Prior to retirement, Betty worked as a food service worker at the hospital, various nursing homes, and schools.

Betty married Burnis M. Riley on June 9, 1962, in Renick, MO and he survives in the home. Also surviving are her children; James “Jimmy” Riley, Brenda Riley, Jo, and Wayne Bridgewater all of Moberly, and Jesse and Amber Riley of Chamois, seven grandchildren; Tiffany and Jon Marsh, Brittany Riley and her boyfriend Troy Fellows, Jaden Koch, Nevaeh, and Aaliyah Bridgewater all of Moberly, Alexis and Natalie Riley of Chamois, three great-grandchildren; Jason and William Marsh and Jiraiya Fellows (expected in August)all of Moberly, two sisters, Ollie D. Hillen of Moberly and Evelyn B. Bolles of Hutchison, KS, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James and John Hendren, and four sisters; Elizabeth Kirkendoll, Lucinda Griffith, Virlee Baldwin, and Dorothy Delaney.

Betty had a big heart and was a foster mother giving love and care to 36 children. She was a square dancer with the Little Dixie Square Dance Club and a member of the Logan Street Church of Christ.
