Betty Patterson Calvert

Betty Patterson Calvert returned home to be with her eternal husband and family on July 2, 2016 at Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield, Utah.

She was born June 25, 1935 in Roy, Utah the daughter of John Alexander Patterson and Fern Alberta Nielsen.
She married James Allely Calvert on July 19, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. Jim passed away October 21, 1989.

She lived in Roy, Utah most of her life and attended Weber County Schools and Weber State College.

Betty was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission to Hong Kong. She also served as Young Women’s President, Relief Society President, and Gospel Doctrine Teacher. She loved the gospel and serving others.

Her career was working at the Sunset Branch of Clearfield State Bank, starting in the proof department working her way up to retiring as Branch Manager after it changed to First Security. After retirement she worked at Westgate Travel.
Betty loved painting, doll making, traveling and needlework. But loved her family most of all and was fiercely devoted to them.

She is survived by her daughter; Leslie Calvert, son; David James Calvert, daughter-in-law; MeChelle Calvert, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and sister; Kathryn Stark, brother-in-law; Dilworth N. Lyman.

She was preceded in death by six sisters and one brother.
