Betty was born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma. She graduated from Oklahoma State University and moved to New York City after college. She spent the last 52 years of her life living in Boulder and Westminster. Betty had a career in administrative support positions in the Boulder Valley School System and with the University of Colorado. She also volunteered with the Girl Scouts. She was married to Bob Muir for 57 years and raised three daughters; Carol Throm, Nancy Rose and Susan Muir. Betty enjoyed touring and traveling, especially in Colorado, and going out for lunch with family was one of her favorite things to do.
