Betty M. Goetz, 74, of South Bend, Indiana, was called home to the Lord on February 2, 2006. She passed away unexpectedly in her home.
Betty was born Elizabeth M. Goetz on July 9, 1931, in South Bend, to the late Walter and Marie Goetz. A lifetime resident of the South Bend, she graduated from the former St. Joseph Academy. Betty was retired from AM General and was currently employed part time at the Office of the late Judd Leighton. She was very active and kept busy with many friends including luncheons with several former classmates, she also belonged to the Howard Park Euchre Club and enjoyed playing bingo. Known for her gift of gab, she will be missed by her family, friends and coworkers.
Betty is survived by her sister, Joan Horvath of Mishawaka, Indiana; two nieces, Vicki Gimson and Pam Szoke, both of Granger, Indiana; a great niece, Kelly Danielson of New London, Connecticut; two great nephews, Mike Szoke of Granger and Adam Danielson of Elkhart, Indiana and a great-great nephew, Caleb Danielson of Elkhart. Also surviving, a long time companion, Joseph Oettinger of Mishawaka. Along with her parents, a brother, Walter Goetz, Jr., preceded her in death.
She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, where services were held on February 6, 2006.
