Betty Lucille Swisher, age 87, of Clarksburg passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Sept. 9, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Howard and Maude Reed.
Married for 59 years, Betty was preceded in death by her husband A. Burl Swisher. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Howard Reed Jr.; sister, Velma Ullom; and son-in-law Randy Harman.
Survivors include son, David and daughter-in-law Kimberly Swisher of Monaca, Pa; daughter, Marilyn Harman of Clarksburg. She was the grandmother of Jason Harman and wife, Dawn; A.J. Harman and wife, Shayna; Beau Harman and wife, Courtney; Haven Harman and Christopher Linger; Jasmine Snider; Gideon Powell; Kyle Swisher and wife, Katlin; Kait Gerlowski and husband, Jason; and six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Betty was raised in McWhorter, WV and graduated from Lost Creek High School. She worked as a floral arranger and art teacher, and actively volunteered for 4-H and her church.
Betty was blessed to have such wonderful caregivers for many years at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family extends their thanks to all of them.
