Betty Lou Mayville

Betty Lou Mayville, of Bay City, passed away Wednesday June 27, 2012 at The Carriage House of Bay City, age 87. She was born February 19, 1925 in Bay City. Betty raised her family in Bay City and retired to Gladwin, living there for 23 years before returning to Bay City. She was an active member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Gladwin. Volunteerism was a great part of Betty’s life. She worked at the Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Gladwin and continued her volunteer work at the Carriage House in Bay City. She also loved animals and enjoyed attending dog shows for many years.Betty was married to Warren “Joe” Mayville and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2004. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Michael) Napolitano and Nancy (Randy) Shank, all of Bay City; two grandchildren, Matthew (Jenny) Napolitano of Saginaw and Andrew (Beth) Shank of Bay City; two great-grandchildren, Harper and Hudson Shank; her grand-dogs, Lilly, Pearl and Lotti. She particularly enjoyed her lifelong special friend since grade school, June Tobin of Sterling Heights. Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Eva (Dant) Ruff.Betty’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Carriage House for the loving care and wonderful friendship they gave to their mother for the last four years.
