Freeport – Betty L. White, 90 of Freeport, Illinois died at Liberty Village, Freeport, Illinois on April 1, 2022. She was born on March 24, 1932 the daughter of Vivian (Rawleigh) and Lynford Tucker. Betty attended Freeport schools graduating in 1951. Her working life was 5 years at Micro Switch and 25 years at Newell from which she retired in 1996.
In 1996 Betty married Vernon White. She enjoyed her family and Vernon’s family very much. She also enjoyed her friends, traveling and working cross word puzzles. Her travels with Vern took her many places in the continental U.S. plus Hawaii, Alaska, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, a former member of Faith United Methodist Church and she was a current member of St. Thomas Aquinas church.
Survivors include her husband, her daughters, Tania (Bill) Hoffman of Rockford and Tracey (Richard) Gross of Freeport; two granddaughters, Suzanne (Shawn) McGlynn and Alicia (Jake) Young.
Her granddaughters gave her a lot of joy and good times as did her great grandchildren that include Tyler and Logan Penticoff, Autumn, Aspen and Colton McGlynn and also Maxwell and Drake Young.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a greatly loved grandmother, Emma Rawleigh.
