Betty L. Drane 81, of Stockton, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012, at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL.
She was born on September 28, 1930, in Freeport. Betty, the daughter of Arthur and Esther (Johnson) Raetz, graduated in 1948 from Dakota High School. She married Deryl L. Drane on March 18, 1956, at the Davis United Methodist Church, in Davis, IL. Betty worked at Burgess Battery in Freeport, and also for the Stockton School District. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, watching high school sports, and doing crossword puzzles.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Deryl; 2 sons, Bruce (Rose Fritz) and Kevin (Suzette), all of Stockton; 9 grandchildren, Greg (Kali) Drane, Tara (Steve) Burris, Doug (Nicolette) Drane, Tiffany (Mick) Schubert, Mike Paisley, Max Paisley, all of Stockton, Stephanie (Aaron) Brown of Washington, IL, Michelle Paisley of Lanark, and Marty Paisley of Ulman, MO. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Marian Wilkins of Savanna, Gloria Yoder of Freeport, Lana Kahler of Wauwatosa, WI, and Holly Miller of Sterling; brother-in-law Jerry Downing of Dakota; sister-in-law Agnes Drane of Pearl City; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents of Davis; two sisters, Marilyn Weaver of Durand and Charlotte Downing of Dakota; brother, Gary Raetz of Rockford; and grandson, Mathew Paisley of Stockton. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 6, 2012, at 2:00 PM, at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, the Rev Brenda Morris presiding. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. A memorial fund has been established.
