Betty Jo (Ramsey) Mitchell, 69, passed away on October 11, 2014, surrounded by her family at her home in Franklin.
Betty was born on Jan. 10, 1945, in Frankfort, Indiana to the late Frank and Alice (Beard) Ramsey.
She married Charles Mitchell on Dec. 10, 1962; he preceded her in death, on Dec. 2013.
Betty was employed at Arvin’s in Franklin as an automatic welder operator; retiring in 2006 after more than 10 years of service. She enjoyed fishing, baking wedding cakes, crocheting, sewing, and reading. She was an Indianapolis Colts football fan. Spending time with her grandkids and great-grandbabies was important to her. Betty was a member of the Columbus Moose Lodge.
She is survived by four children, Tammy (Dave) Caseltine of Georgia, Melinda (Thomas) Banta of Trafalgar, Allen (Jennifer) Mitchell and Kerri (Max) Crews both of Franklin, 13 grandchildren, Mark Cox, Dustin Cox, Heather Cox, Leslie Dunfee, Jessica Banta, Bethany Skaggs, Jeffery Burkhead, Joshua Mitchell, David Allen Mitchell, Christopher Stephens, Kristin Stephens and Harley and Alysa and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death also by a brother, two sisters and a great-granddaughter, Haley Hogue.
