Betty Jo (Murdock) Najarian went to be with the Lord in Heaven on March 14, 2007. Betty was born in Samson, AL and earned her BA Degree in Music Education from Troy University and did further studies at Florida State University and Auburn University.

Betty operated a piano music studio and loved, and was loved by, her students past and present. She was the counselor of the Village Junior Music Club.

Betty will be deeply missed by her husband of 53 years Zovak (Jerry) Najarian, son Brian Keith Najarian and wife Rose, daughter Pamela Whitehead and husband Ronald and grandsons Jerremy and Jathan Whitehead.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Edward Bryan and Ida Murdock of Samson, AL and Henry and Emma Weeks of Coffee Springs, AL.

Betty belonged to many music organizations including the Florida Federation of Music Clubs and the Choctaw Bay Music Club for which she had served as President and Chaplain. She had endowed an award in Junior Hymn Playing that is annually awarded at the FFMC State Junior Convention. She was a member of Music Teachers National Association, Florida State Music Teachers Association and the Okaloosa County Music Teachers Association. She also served in these organizations as a valuable member, officer, and adjudicator.
