Betty Jewel Downey, 86, of Anderson, passed away on January 29, 2013 at her residence.
She was born on January 1, 1927 in Brotherton, Tennessee and resided most of her life in Anderson. Betty retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 15 years of service. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Anderson/Daleville for over 50 years. She was a devoted Christian, and when she wasn’t able to attend, she would watch religious shows on TV. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
Betty is survived by her loving son, Terry Downey of Indianapolis, and nieces, Peggy King of Cookeville, TN, Brilla Miller of Anderson, and, Marilyn Bilbrey of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy P. Downey, father, Dillard Bilbrey, mother, Polly Bilbrey, four sisters, Otha Bilbrey, Vauda Brown, Verla Mason, and Bertha Reynolds, and one brother, Beecher Bilbrey.
