Betty Jean (Spencer) Wood, 88, passed away Wednesday Oct. 7, 2015 in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Indianapolis. She was born Oct. 11,1926 in Hackensack, New Jersey to William H. and Mary E. (Beck) Spencer.
She was employed with Shepherds Ministries in Wisconsin as a secretary for 26 years, retiring in 1986.
Betty enjoyed playing the piano, reading, cooking and baking. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Southeast Baptist Tabernacle in Indianapolis.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew Wood, two children, Ruth (Steve) Lantz and David (Susan) Wood, two sisters, Jane Spencer and Marjorie Kozlik both of New Jersey, five grandchildren, Christopher Wood, Jeremy Lantz, Melissa Accardy, Gretchen Lantz and Rebekah Meldrum and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday Oct. 12, 2015 at Southeast Baptist Tabernacle, 6835 Shelbyville Rd, Indianapolis,Indiana.
