Betty Jean Nowicki, 84, of Elkhart, went Home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 2, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

Betty was born on September 12, 1937 in Greenwood Twp., MI to the late Lewis and Anna Fern (Siple) Silk. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy Fleisher and second husband, Bill Nowicki; 2 grandsons and 9 siblings.

Betty is survived by her children, David L. (Vicki) Fleisher of Dowagiac, MI, Gretta Wooten (Fred Webster) of White Pigeon, MI, Debra (Steve) Hilliard of Spfld, OH and Bonnie Eggleston of Elkhart; 9 grandchildren, Bonniejean Syers (Patrick), Charlotte Parris, Nicholas Ludlow, Christina Castro, Chuck Hilliard (Stefanie), Susan Thompson (Derrick), Angela Huddleston (Jessie), Heather Curtis (Justin) and David W. Fleisher; 17 great grandchildren, Cassie, Richard (Jr.), Rose, Daryn (Beth), Ashley Pope (David), Tony (Cat Wilson), Hailey, David M., Aurora, Tristan, Niko, Aidan, Kalina, Xiluss, Madison, McKinley and Chloe; and 7 great great grandchildren, Aubrey, Lealani, Oliver, Zion, Aidyn, Logan and Ryder.

Betty was a member at Central Christian Church and Council for Aging. She was a proud breast Cancer survivor and active with Ribbon of Hope. In her spare time, Betty played cards and dice games. She enjoyed arts and crafts as well. Betty enjoyed listening to Elvis and dancing. She was known for her famous, maple syrup that she procured from the trees.

Betty was a loving mother, aunt and grandmother with a big heart whom made strangers feel like family.
