Betty Jean Lippert, 82, of Newton died on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center.
Betty, the daughter of Lloyd and Anna (Wymore) Landgrebe, was born on February 16, 1937 in Oskaloosa. She grew up in Appanoose County where Rathbun Lake now is. Betty graduated from Moravia High School in the Class of 1955. On December 16, 1955, Betty was united in marriage with L. David Lippert in Iconium, Iowa. They made their home in Newton. Betty worked for the Newton Community School District as a cook for 30 years.
Betty is survived by her husband, L. David Lippert of Newton; son, Duane Lippert of Newton; grandchildren, Sara, Nicole, Natalie, Cara, and Clint; three great-grandchildren; her six brothers and six sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kimberly Winchell; and a brother, Richard Landgrebe.
