Betty Jean Agan passed away at home June 16, 2021 at the age of 95. She was the daughter of Joseph H and Lenora B Janes of Patterson, Iowa. She grew up on the family farm south of town.
After graduation from high school she came to Des Moines to work at the ordinance plant. There she met her future husband, Clifford Agan, and they married May 20, 1944. The Lord blessed them with a family of 9 children.
She was a very busy mother, however, always managed their attendance in Sunday school and church at the nearest congregation with a total of 13 yrs at the Norwoodville Baptist Church. That was where she made her decision for Christ.
When her youngest were in school, she was employed the next 25 yrs at Central Tractor, Iowa Revenue and Finance and the US Postal Service in Des Moines, Iowa.
After her husband’s passing in 1979, she moved to Berwick. Some time later she was the caregiver for her oldest son who had health problems for over 20 yrs until his passing in 2015.
She is survived by 5 children: Carol (Chuck) Pool, Carla (Roger) West, Michael (Ellen) Agan, Carma (Bill Recker), Chris (Shelly) Agan, daughter-in-law: Linda Agan, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Hugen and many other extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death, were her parents, her husband, 3 sons: Clifford Jr, Bruce, & Scott, a daughter: Terry Jean, step-daughter: Jennith and 5 grandchildren, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
