Betty Jayne Roesner, 81, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away, Thursday, May 11, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Betty was born on June 20, 1924, in Chicago Heights, Illinois to Harry and Laura (Shutz) Pfeifer. She was the owner of the Red Inn Tavern, (currently, The Still) for many years. On February 12, 1944, Betty married Harold Emil Roesner, who preceded her in death on November 13, 2001.
Surviving are her children, Lynn (Paul) Tobolski of New Carlisle, Dianne Gess of Crete, Illinois, Debra (Jerry) Colanese of New Carlisle, Thomas (Jan) Roesner of New Carlisle; ten grandchildren, Kim (Williams) Pinto, Wendy (Aaron) McNeely, Laurie (Andrew) Long, Jayna Colanese, Eric (Angie) Tobolski, Ryan & Eric Weber, and Justin, Jared & Jordan Colanese; and ten great grandchildren. A sister, Harriet Prebstle preceded her in death.
Betty was a member of the Community Church of New Carlisle, and a founding member of the New Carlisle Firemen’s Auxiliary.
