Betty Jane Myers Williams, age 91, entered eternal life on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 12:30 p.m., with her two daughters by her side. An inspiration to those who knew her, Betty had an unwavering faith in God and a strong will to live. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on September 16, 1922, to Leonard Claude Myers and Mabel Fern Roscoe Myers. She married the love of her life, Merle Leroy “Roy” Williams on August 9, 1945. He has preceded her in death, as did her parents and sisters Dorothy Mae Stephens and Virginia Ellis.
Betty was the mother of five children: David Lee (deceased), Linda Lou (and husband Frank Allen Hill), Deborah Jeanne (and husband Keith Duane Thompson), Stanley Leroy (deceased), and Roy Michael Williams (deceased). Paul Williams, Brother-in-Law, of Marshall, Illinois and Marilyn Dowdy, Sister-in-Law (and husband Tom), of Sebring, Florida survive her. She leaves behind adored grandchildren Heather Anne Hill, Stacey Lynn Wooden Simons (and husband Lon), April Williams, David Williams, Christopher Todd Wooden, and Holly Lea Hill (and husband Scott Thompson), Tracy Darlene Thompson Mullen (and husband Matthew) and Robert Duane Thompson, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.
