Betty Jean Huhn, age 85, of Rensselaer passed away May 6, 2010 at Bethany Point Healthcare in Anderson, Indiana. Betty was born in Rensselaer on November 30, 1924, the daughter of the late Ernest V. And Helen M. (Dunlap) Sayers.

She was a 1943 graduate of Rensselaer High School. A homemaker, Betty had worked at Schumacher Electric for 10 years. She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church of Rensselaer where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the St. Luke Women of Faith. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #29, the VFW Auxiliary Post #1279, where she was past president and was past president of the District 2 VFW Auxiliary.

Betty enjoyed being a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Food Pantry. On June 2, 1943, in Demotte Betty married Walter Henry Huhn who passed away February 12, 1988. Betty is survived by two sons, Richard H. (Dale) Huhn, Rensselaer and Ronald L. (Eudell) Huhn, Anderson, seven grandchildren, Matt (Kim) Huhn, Amy (Jack) Kelly, Joshua (Karen) Wehlage, Lynn Huhn, Andrew (Sasha) Huhn, Bruce (Donna) Dresher and Julie Dresher, 8 great-grandchildren, two brothers, John (Mary) Sayers, Rensselaer and Charles (Ellen) Sayers, Demotte, and two sisters, Mary (Paul) Reed, Lafayette and Judith (Kinnie) Messer, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and four brothers.
