Betty’s husband, Norman H. Confer, died Aug. 10, 1996.

Betty retired as a Night Shift Supervisor from the former Weldon Manufacturing Company. She was a very active member of the Hepburn Baptist Church were she taught Sunday school and was a church historian. She was also a member of the Bald Eagle Art League and the Duboistown Garden Club.

Betty was a graduate of the Washington School of Art and owned Stoney Meadow Art Gallery. She was well known in the area as an artist, photographer and musician.

Born Oct. 27, 1922, in Williamsport she was the daughter of Charles and Elsie Wright Gehr.

Surviving are a son, Charles L. (Judith) of Bolton, MA; daughters, Evoyn C. (Carl) Snook of Rose Valley and Rose C. (Joseph) Angelita of Cave Creek, AZ; grandchildren, Tara (Tim) Foster, Ryan Snook and Francesca Chubb-Confer and a great graddaughter, Lily Foster.

Betty was predeceased by two brothers, Max and Charles Gehr.
