Betty Davis Finley

Betty Jane Davis Finley of Leola, Arkansas was born September 20, 1928 in Leola to the late Howard Glen and Savannah Cates Davis. She departed this world on August 9, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 82.

She was a member of Moore’s Chapel Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and had many jobs in the community. She was very active in the Leola schools where she served as PTA President and was also a member of the Eastern Star. Her favorite job was working as a receptionist for Dr. Ab Tilley and Darrell Elkins. She also enjoyed working at the polls for many years in Leola. She had many wonderful friends from all around and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and laughing with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Vernon Finley who passed away in February 2011. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, a sister, one grandchild and her best friend Vivian Ann Phillips.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Finley and wife Debbie of Atoka, Tennessee; two daughters, Linda Gifford and husband Tommy of Leola and Jackie Greer and husband Gary Don of Leola; a sister, Dorothy Segalla and husband Louis of Little Rock; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and “very” special friends; Cleo Jones, Dot and Mike Golden, Ruby and Ben Smith and JoAnn Helms.
