Bette Ruth (Grower) Blum, 82, of Middletown, wife of the late Seymour A. Blum whom she married in 1957, passed away on Monday, November 1st at Water’s Edge Center for Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Lee (Middleman) Grower. Bette lived in Middletown most of her life and was a member of Congregation Adath Israel Synagogue. She was a Registered Dietician at French Hospital and Head Dietician at Mount Sinai Hospital, both in New York. Bette spent many years volunteering to run the kitchen at the Synagogue and belonged to the Adath Israel stitchery group. She is survived by her son, Benjamin J. Blum of Middletown; her daughter, Holly (Blum) Durinick and her husband, Walter Keller of Windsor Locks: and four grandchildren, Rachael Durinick, Brian Durinick, Sara Keller, and Marcus Deren.
