Bette Jane (Pratt) Wenzel, 93, of Middletown, CT and formerly of Sarasota, FL, passed away on January 28, 2016 at Wadsworth Glen Nursing Facility in Middletown. Born on July 6, 1922 in Utica, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Louise (Adkins) Pratt. Bette was a realtor by profession. She was a dedicated member of several regional theater groups during her lifetime. Bette loved antiquing, acting, musical theater, dancing and nature walks. She especially loved her home and life on Siesta Key, Sarasota where she lived for forty years and had many friends.
Bette is survived by three children, David Wenzel and his wife, Janice Wenzel of Durham; Greg Wenzel of Maynard, MA and Robert Phillips of Taunton, MA and three grandchildren, Brendan Wenzel, Christopher Wenzel and Ian McNally. Along with her parents, Bette was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Wenzel. The Wenzel family would like to thank Jackie Williams, Bette’s caretaker and loving companion during the final months of Bette’s life, for her support and kindness.
