Dr. Berthold Richard (Dick) Vogt, age 82, and born in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2021, in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Dick attended the University of Michigan where he obtained his BS degree in Chemistry and proceeded to attend Ohio State University where he graduated with a PhD. in Organic Chemistry. He later attended the prestigious Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned his MBA.
During his academic and professional career, Dick obtained numerous patents in the US and internationally for his work in organic chemistry. He spent his career working in the pharmaceutical industry, initially in a research and development capacity, and then later as an executive in Business Development and Licensing. Dick loved fishing, camping, gardening, and reading.
He also loved yearly vacations with the family at Houghton Lake, MI. He is survived by his sister MaryEllen Marsolais, son David Vogt, granddaughter Alexandra Vogt, nieces and nephews Michele Robison, Richard Marsolais, Suzanne Wallace, Marianne Marsolais, Michael Marsolais, and companion Ann Reeks.
