Bertha Rita Maffei of Cherry Hill, passed away in Virtua Hospital Voorhees on Sunday at the age of 86. Born in Philadelphia, she worked in retail sales for Casual Corner. She belonged to the Sons of Italy Camden County Chapter and was a volunteer working the polls during election time in Camden County.
Bert loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandkids, they brought her great joy. She was predeceased by her brother Dr. Michael Maffei and a sister Dr. June DeNardis. She is survived by her daughter and son in law: Maryjane (Mark) Mercuri; grandchildren: Jill (Michel) Gehin, Matthew (Jeannette) Mercuri, Michael (Jessica) Mercuri; great-grandchildren: Simone, Sabastian, Andrew, Marc, Mitchel, Maksim, Mike, Giovanni. She will be remembered fondly as “aunt Bert” to her many nieces and nephews.
